The Cleveland Browns are obviously high on Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden, whom they selected late in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft.

It also means the team could scuttle Colt McCoy, who is just 6-15 as the Browns starting signal-caller.

"I wasn't concerned about his age," Browns coach Pat Shurmur told the Cleveland Plain-Dealer. "I was impressed with his maturity and production on tape. We became very fond of him."

As far as possibly dealing incumbent starter Colt McCoy, he added, "It's something we'll talk about tonight and tomorrow."

Weeden tossed 37 touchdowns to 13 interceptions for the Cowboys last season.

McCoy failed to throw for 3,000 yards and had just 14 touchdown passed to 11 interceptions.

Redskins choose QB Cousins in 4th round, ready to release QB John Beck

The Washington Redskins are going to have some quarterbacks to compete with Robert Griffin III but John Beck won't be one of them.

The Redskins are releasing quarterback John Beck, who started three games for them last season, after selecting Kirk Cousins of Michigan State in the fourth round on Saturday.

Washington also drafted Griffin No. 2 overall on Thursday and he is expected to be the starter and new face of the franchise.

Should Griffin falter Cousins will be there waiting in the wings. Cousins won 27 games in three seasons for the Spartans.

Beck, a former second round draft choice, threw for 858 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions last year for Washington.

Saturday marked the first time since 1989 that a team has taken two quarterbacks in the first four rounds of the draft. (That year, the Cowboys drafted Troy Aikman and Steve Walsh).
