The Cleveland Browns completed their rookie minicamp Sunday and rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden felt he got a lot out of the sessions.

The Browns held two practices each on Friday and Saturday and concluded the minicamp with the single session Sunday morning.

"It was a good practice, a good minicamp," Browns coach Pat Shurmur said. "I told the players it was a very good start, but we have a long way to go before we're ready to play a game and do the things we're ready to do. Tomorrow, they'll be in the offseason program with the veteran players and we'll be one team."

Weeden, who is expected to compete with Colt McCoy for the starting quarterback job, felt he was able to get a solid grasp of the offense and command the huddle as the camp went on.

"I felt comfortable spitting out the verbiage," Weeden said. "If somebody had a question, I knew what their assignment was, so I was able to play without thinking. The first day, there's a lot of thinking.

"The second day, you try to get better and by today, I felt like I was playing without having to think about this, this and this, just go out and react and that's when you're a better quarterback."

Browns coach Pat Shurmur liked a lot of things that he saw from Weeden as was impressed overall.

"I think he generally operated well, other than a couple plays, he did almost everything under center and I think he handled that extremely well," Shurmur said. "He was very accurate. You can see he throws a good ball and you can see he's got a chance to be a very good player."
