Tim Tebow will get at least one more shot to show he can be the quarterback to lead the Denver Broncos.

It wasn't exactly a ringing endoresement, but Denver coach John Fox said that Tebow will again be under center for Sunday's game at Oakland.

"For this week, yes," Fox said Monday when asked if Tebow was still the starter.

Fox's comments came a day after Denver was pounded, 45-10 at home by Detroit.

Tebow completed less than 50 percent of his passes against the Lions, was sacked seven times and had a fumble and an interception returned for touchdowns.

He had brought the Broncos back from a 15-0 deficit against Miami in his previous start but Tebow's body of work is still limited and Fox and the coaching staff are still learning what he can do.

"We're getting to know him better and he's getting to understand the offense better with each one of those snaps," Fox said. "I think at the end of the day, we get to see if he can improve and get better in the passing game."

Tebow spent Monday watching the film from the Lions game and he will see plenty to improve on. Denver drove for a field goal on its first drive but then stalled until the game was well out of reach.

"Today's the day I've got to improve, and that's kind of the focus," Tebow said.

If Tebow continues to struggle the Broncos can let him try and work his way out of it or go a couple other ways. Brady Quinn, the No. 3 quarterback who has been inactive the past two games, could get a shot or Fox could go back to Kyle Orton, who began the season as the starter.

"In this business, all things are possible," Fox said. "Right now, we're in the process of finding out who the quarterback is and we'll leave it at that."
