The New York Giants face a tough task Sunday in trying to stop the Green Bay Packers Sunday and that task could be even tougher than normal as the Giants will be without defensive end Osi Umenyiora.

According to a report, Umenyiora will be out for Sunday's game and could be sidelined up to a month with a severly sprained ankle.

The New York Daily News reported that a source said Umenyiora "sprained pretty much everything in there" in Monday's blowout loss at New Orleans.

Umenyiora might be back for New York's Dec. 18 game vs. the Washington Redskins.

The injury comes at a tough time as the Giants have lost three straight and have fallen into second place in the NFC East, a game behind the Dallas Cowboys.

Umenyiora also missed the first three games of the season following arthroscopic knee surgery during training camp.
