The injury-riddled Eagles continued to make preparations for Sunday's clash with New England Thursday, with several injured key players, including Michael Vick, watching from the sidelines.

Vick did not practice for the second consecutive day as he recovers from suffering broken ribs. His status is uncertain.

According to head coach Andy Reid, Vick threw Wednesday and was slated to throw a little bit Thursday, but is not yet returning to practice.

The four-time All Pro Vick, who sustained his latest injury in Week 10's loss to Arizona, told the team's website that he's feeling "good" despite sitting out practice again. He added that he is "getting better".

Aside from the Eagles' 31-year-old signal-caller, receiver Jeremy Maclin also did not practice Thursday as he deals with hamstring and shoulder injuries.

Maclin, who leads all Eagles wide receivers with 46 catches for 612 yards, took limited reps Wednesday. He suffered the said injuries against the Cardinals, and did not play last week.

The Eagles' other star wideout, DeSean Jackson, saw limited participation Thursday with a foot contusion. He missed Wednesday's session.

The Eagles are hoping to mobilize all the key parts of its offense when they collide against a Patriots defense that gives up a lot of yards, but fewer points.

Philadelphia is hoping to match the explosive offense of AFC-East-leading New England, which is one of the highest scoring offenses in the league.

Meanwhile, the Eagles suffered a blow Thursday when cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha injured his left knee during practice and was taken off the field on a cart.

No details of the extent of the injury were revealed by the team but the 30-year-old, a three-time Pro Bowl pick and four-time All-Pro selection was listed as limited on Thursday.

The latest development impacts the already crippled Eagles cornerback trio of Asante Samuel, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Asomugha.

Samuel remains the only healthy back for the Eagles. Pro Bowl cornerback Rodgers-Cromartie is dealing with an ankle injury.

Asomugha, one of the Eagles' celebrated free agency acquisitions, leads the team with three interceptions.
