NFL Football 2011
Matt Ryan
Last season, Pro Bowl quarterback MATT RYAN guided the Atlanta Falcons to a 13-3 record and an NFC South division title.
"Matt Ryan is a superstar in progress," says NFL Network analyst STEVE MARIUCCI. "He is the leader and face of that organization."
Ryan, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, has led the Falcons to 33 wins in his first three NFL seasons, tied with Pro Football Hall of Famer DAN MARINO for the most wins by a starting quarterback in his first three seasons among players who began their careers after the 1970 merger.
"Matt has not only the physical tools you look for in a starting NFL quarterback, but also the mental toughness," says Atlanta head coach MIKE SMITH. "He's a very tough guy. He's resilient. He's always trying to get better and become a more consistent quarterback. His work ethic is second-to-none."
"This is Matt's team," adds Falcons tight end TONY GONZALEZ. "He's the face of this franchise. He's the future of this franchise. He's going to be one of the best quarterbacks in this league before it's all said and done."
