NFL Football 2011

Unpredictable NFL? It sure seems that way!

In the nine seasons since realignment in 2002, 29 of the 32 NFL teams have qualified for the playoffs at least once. In that time, 26 different teams have won division titles.

"What makes the NFL unique is that every market has an opportunity," says NFL Commissioner ROGER GOODELL. "You have seen it in the last two Super Bowls -- all four teams are small markets. They had the chance to compete."

NEW LEADERSHIP ATOP DIVISIONS:

In 2010, there were six new division winners -- Atlanta, Chicago, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Seattle -- which tied for the most such clubs since realignment in 2002.

"The guaranteed way to get into the playoffs is to win your division, so that's what we're playing the games for," said Chiefs head coach TODD HALEY after clinching the AFC West title last year.
