With the likelihood of relying on the passing game again this season, the Arizona Cardinals bolstered their offense with the signing of receiver Larry Fitzgerald to a new deal that will keep the star wideout in Arizona through 2018.

Fitzgerald, 27, who emerged as one of the premier wide receivers in the NFL since Arizona selected him No. 3 overall in the 2004 draft, inked a new eight-year contract with the Cards Saturday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but according to ESPN.com, the multi-year pact is worth $120 million with close to $50 million guaranteed.

The new deal makes the five-time Pro Bowler one of the highest-paid players in the league and the eight-year contract is also the biggest in the franchise's history.

It is also expected to further boost the Cardinals offense with Kevin Kolb behind center.

Last season, Fitzgerald managed to haul in 90 passes for 1,137 yards and six TDs, despite issues at quarterback play. Arizona also had one of the worst offenses in the league while struggling to a 5-11 record in 2010.

Kolb is expected to easily build chemistry with the 6-foot-3 and 218-pound target. Fitzgerald has caught at least 90 passes in five of his seven seasons with Arizona.

Fitzgerald, who was also named to three All-Pro selections, has amassed 613 career receptions for 8,204 yards and 65 touchdowns.
