The Baltimore Ravens are heading to Super Bowl XLVII after upsetting the New England Patriots 28-13.

Joe Flacco outdueled Tom Brady, covering 240 yards on 21-for-36 passing with three touchdown passes and no picks as the Ravens outscored the Patriots 21-0 in the second half.

Flacco's three touchdown passes came in an 11-minute span. In the second half, Flacco connected with Anquan Boldin twice in the first four minutes of the fourth quarter after connecting Dennis Pitta with 6:14 left in the third quarter.

Stephen Gostkowski gave the Patriots the initial lead with a 31-yard field goal with 6:21 left in the first quarter. But the Ravens rebounded on Ray Rice's 2-yard touchdown run with 9:28 to go in the second to take a 7-3 lead. The Patriots then scored on a 1-yard TD pass from Tom Brady to Wes Welker to cap an 11-play, 79-yard drive regaining the lead, 10-7. The Patriots padded their lead with Gostkowski's 25-yard field goal on the final play of the half.

Tom Brady, who went 29-for-54 for 320 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, was shut down by the Ravens defense in the second half.

Flacco's 5-yard touchdown to Dennis Pitta gave Baltimore a 14-13 lead in the third quarter. His three-yard TD pass to Bolden gave the Ravens a 21-13 edge.

The Ravens 28-13 victory in the AFC Championship Game was a rematch of a last year's AFC Championship Game and a Week 3 Ravens' home win (31-30). It marked the 11th time in 16 opportunities since 1990 that a team won the AFC Championship Game against an opponent it defeated in the regular season.

The Ravens advance to the Super Bowl for the second time in franchise history (Super Bowl XXXV); the win improved upon the Raven's NFL-best postseason road winning percentage (9-5, .643)

Tom Brady passed for his sixth career 300-yard passing game in the playoffs. Only Peyton Manning (8) has more 300-yard passing games than Brady in postseason history. Brady (5,949) surpassed Manning (5,679), Montana (5,772) and Brett Favre (5,855) for the most postseason passing yards in league history.
