Florida State QBs Coach Joins Miami as Offensive Coordinator

Florida State quarterbacks coach James Coley has left the Seminoles and joined Miami as offensive coordinator.
According to sources, Coley was offered $500,000 by Miami along with full control over play calling, something that he was deprived of during his stint at Florida State.
Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher has tight control over play calling but he was planning to cede control to a full-time offensive coordinator in five years.
However, Coley didn't want to wait that long as he immediately agreed to replace Jedd Fisch, who headed to the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars this offseason.
Coley's departure was the latest in a series of exodus from Fisher's staff. Since December 1, several FSU assistants have left for other jobs, including former quarterbacks coach Dameyune Craig, who joined Auburn earlier this month.
Coley is a Miami native who has worked with the Dolphins and was offensive coordinator at Florida International, and he's widely considered among the best recruiters of high school talent in South Florida.
Coley's recruiting skills could have a positive impact at Miami in this area. He helped the Seminoles land top-10 classes in 2008 and 2009. He has also spent two years as an assistant with the Miami Dolphins under Nick Saban.
