Bob O'Brien to Stay at Penn State After Browns Interview

Philadelphia, PA

Declaring he's not a "one-and-done guy", Bill O'Brien has decided to remain as Penn State head coach after he was interview by the Cleveland Browns.

"I made a commitment to these players at Penn State, and that's what I am going to do. I'm not gonna cut and run after one year, that's for sure," O'Brien told Pennlive.com Thursday, ending a week of uncertainty for the Nittany Lions.

A source said the contracts for O'Brien and his assistants are expected to be reworked and will include a pay raise.

Pennlive.com reported that O'Brien received a $1.3 million gift from a prominent donor to bring his total compensation to $3.6 million.

The Nittany Lions went 8-4 this season despite sanctions leveled by the NCAA due to the child abuse scandal involving former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

Due to inaction of its officials, the NCAA has banned Penn State from postseason play for four years on top of four years of significant scholarship and forfeiture of wins.

O'Brien had been contacted by several NFL teams through his agent Joe Linta, including the Browns and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Linta also told NFL.com that the Arizona Cardinals and San Diego Chargers also reached out to his client.

However, Linta said that "integrity was far more important (to O'Brien) than any financial considerations."

With O'Brien's decision, all eyes are now focused on Oregon coach Chip Kelly, who is being eyed by several NFL teams.

Gov. Tom Corbett(R) discusses why he decided to file a lawsuit against the NCAA for the sanctions levied upon Penn State
