Travis Releford recorded 22 points and 8 rebounds and Jeff Withey racked up 16 points and 16 rebounds as the Kansas Jayhawks rallied past the North Carolina Tar Heels 70-58 Sunday at Sprint Center.

The Jayhawks moved on to the Sweet Sixteen after overcoming a nine-point deficit at the break. Kansas used tough defense and fluid offense to blow by the Tar Heels in the second half.

Kevin Young also recorded 10 points and 9 rebounds while Naadir Tharpe added 12 points for the Jayhawks, who shot 43 percent from the field and grabbed 47 rebounds despite committing 22 turnovers.

P.J. Hairston chalked up 15 points and 9 rebounds and James Michael McAdoo delivered 11 in a losing effort for North Carolina.

Kansas advanced to the Sweet 16 for the 30th time in school history. The Jayhawks will take on the Michigan Wolverines in Arlington, Texas.
