After leading by 18 points after the first half, the No. 13 seed La Salle Explorers held on for dear life to upset the Kanas State Wildcats, 63-61, in the NCAA second round of the tournament.

Down 44-26 at the end of the first half, the Kanas State Wildcats -- led by Jordan Henriquez -- clawed their way back to take a two-point lead with about six minutes remaining in the game. However, the Explorers responded with an air tight defense in the closing minutes as Jerrell Wright scored the Explorers' final nine points. Wright sealed the upset victory with 3 crucial foul shots in the final 30 seconds. The Wildcats had one last chance but were unable to score.

Jerrell Wright, the 6-foot-8 sophomore, led the Explorers with 21 points on 6-of-6 shooting from the field while making 9-for-10 from the foul line. Wright also had eight rebounds. Henriquez finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

La Salle meets 12th-seeded Ole Miss in the third-round on Sunday.

Jerrell Wright made 3 foul shots in the final 30 seconds, and the No. 13 seed from the Atlantic 10 buckled down on defense in the closing minutes, allowing the Explorers to polish off a 63-61 upset win Friday in the second round of the tournament.
