Running back John Hubert tallied a career-high four rushing touchdowns and playmaker Collin Klein threw two touchdown passes and added two more on the ground as No. 7 Kansas State kept its unbeaten record with a 56-16 thrashing of Kansas Saturday at Bill Snyder Stadium.

Klein completed seven of 14 passes for 129 yards and rushed for 117 yards on 10 carries for a four-touchdown game for the Wildcats (5-0, 2-0 Big 12), who scored their first win over the Jayhawks (1-4, 0-2 Big 12) since their last meeting in 2009.

Hubert tallied 101 yards on just 10 carries and four scores from 20, 32, one and 10 yards to set a new career-high and tie for the third-most in a single game in school history. It was the most rushing touchdowns by a Wildcat since Collin Klein had five against Texas A&M last season.

They became the first Wildcat duo with a pair of 100-yard rushing games in the same contest since Klein and Daniel Thomas tallied 127 and 126, respectively against Texas in 2010. Kansas State finished with a season-high 346 yards rushing on 37 carries, its highest running total since posting 373 against North Texas in 2010.

Kansas State's defense forced a season-high five turnovers and had three interceptions against Jayhawks quarterback Dayne Crist, who finished 16-for-27 for 189 yards and one score.

After a close first quarter which ended in a 7-all deadlock, the Jayhawks struck first in the second period after James Sims' one-yard run to taste the lead for the last time.

The Wildcats scored two consecutive touchdowns from Klein's 34-yard pass to Tyler Lockett and a one-yard scoring burst from the quarterback to grab a 21-14 halftime lead.

Hubert then led the Wildcats' breakaway in the third period, scoring two of his four touchdowns and Klein added one rushing score and a two-yard touchdown pass to Travis Tannahill.

During that stretch, the Jayhawks could only produce a two-point safety from a tackle by Tunde Bakare on Hubert, who capped the victory with 10-yard touchdown run in the final period.

"We were not flat, we just did not execute. There was no sense of flatness at all. The guys were ready to go. We did not execute," Crist said of the Jayhawks' performance in the third period.

Saturday's contest was the 110th edition of the Dillon's Sunflower Showdown. Kansas leads the series all-time (65-40-5) but Kansas State has won 17 of the last 22 meetings.
