After relinquishing the top spot for two weeks to Lady Gaga's massive "Born This Way," Adele returns to the top spot with 21, selling another 114,000 copies for its tenth week at #1. Gaga follows with "Born This Way" slipping to #2 in its third week, selling 100,000 copies.
But the biggest chart news this week is the massive jump made by the original Broadway cast recording of "The Book of Mormon," the now Tony Award-winning musical from "South Park" creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
Following its big awards sweep, the "Book of Mormon" album jumped from outside the Billboard 200 all the way to #3, selling 61,000 copies (it initially debuted four weeks ago at #31, selling 13,000). That's the best chart performance for a Broadway cast album since 1969's "Hair" and the highest sales tally since Soundscan started reporting in 1991.
Rapper Tech N9ne earns his first top 10 album and highest sales week with "All 6's & 7's" debuting at #4 with 56,000. Ronnie Dunn, of Brooks & Dunn, debuts at #5 with his first solo effort, taking in 45,000 in his first week.
All Time Low earned their second top 10 album this week with "Dirty Work," which debuts at #6 with 44,000. Jason Aldean's "My Kind Of Party" climbs up to #7 this week with 41,000, while Brad Paisley's "This Is Country Music" drops two spots to #8, selling 38,000.
Down to #9 this week is the "Now 38" compilation, featuring music from Britney Spears, Ke$ha, and Bruno Mars, selling 31,000 copies. Death Cab for Cutie's "Codes and Keys" falls from #3 to #10 this week, selling 30,000 copies.
