The Best Hair and Beauty Trends From the Grammys

From Jennifer Lopez's plunging Versace dress in 2000 to Lady Gaga's orbital Armani Prive dress in 2010, the Grammys are not known for their, uh, subtlety … and the 2011 awards show was no exception.

Bold and colorful were the themes of the night when it came to hair and makeup.

Bright, brash cherry reds and coppers were the top hair color, as seen on Rihanna and Florence Welch. Hairstyles took their inspiration from the '70s with long, center-parted waves, as seen on Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez and more.

When it came to makeup, the eyes definitely had it.

Katy Perry sported two-toned eye makeup, with a sweep of lavender shadow on top and lime green on her lower lashes. Dianna Agron of "Glee" went for full-on drama with smoky eyes and eyeliner that seductively winged out. And fake eyelashes were de rigeur -- most notably on Eva Longoria, who went with a full, feathery fringe.

While these trends are definitely not for every day, they show that you can have fun with your hair and makeup -- in the right time, at the right place.
