Celebrity Hair Comeback: The Farrah Flip

Long-layered hairstyles almost never go out of style, and now you're seeing those layers worn in a flipped-back style that is reminiscent of Farrah Fawcett's famed mane.

Katie Holmes sported side-swept bangs and gradated layers in the recent Ann Taylor ads. In a modern take on the classic cut, princess-to-be Kate Middleton wears her brunette hair long with bounce and movement at the ends.

Blondes are rocking the look too. Dianna Agron, who plays Quinn on "Glee," had feathered bangs and front pieces in a recent episode that did Farrah proud.

"The style is bouncy, flirty and sexy," says Eliut Rivera, owner of the Eliut Salon in New York City. "Now that the '70s and '80s are back in fashion, the hairstyle has been revived and looks just as good as it did before."

To keep the look more modern, leave it soft -- not stiff and over-sprayed -- and mess it up so it's not perfect-looking, suggests Rivera. "The trick to this style is using a small, round ceramic brush to flip hair away from the face when blow drying." Forgo the hairspray to get the bouncy, girl-without-a-care feel.
