3 Fall Makeup Products You Need Now!

A new season is always a good excuse -- no, a good reason -- to update your makeup bag. Instead of just replenishing your standbys, why not try some new types of products? Here are three we recommend:

1. A glossy lip balm

A cross between a gloss and lipstick, this modern balm deposits a sheer wash of color on your lips. It doesn't have the stickiness of gloss or the need for constant touch-ups that lipstick demands. The color fades gradually, leaving behind a just-kissed tint. jeans-and-tee weekend wardrobe. Glossy balms are also a great way to experiment with bold color, like plum, bright pink or orange.

2. A pot of shimmery eye shadow in a metallic hue

We're not talking shimmer or glitter, but sophisticated gleam. Choose a cream formula, and you'll find it's like lip gloss for your eyes, catching the light beautifully. A slightly burnished lid is also a gorgeous complement to the season's bold mulberry lip for an evening out. Sweep the color from your lash line to your crease, then finish your eyes with two coats of your favorite black mascara. Glamour in 20 seconds!

3. A cream blush.

If the only blush you use is powder, it's time to give a cream formula a try. Cream blush blends seamlessly and looks natural -- even if the color appears overly bright in the pot. Plus, it has a dewy finish that gives you that lit-from-within glow. And you can skip the brush: The best application tool for a cream blush is your fingertips.
