The NBA's Most Improved 3-Point Shooters
by Ben Leibowitz
Although Los Angeles Lakers head coach Byron Scott doesn't care much for the importance of three-pointers in today's NBA, the outside shot has continued to shape the game's landscape.
Because of that growing trend, GMs around the Association have to be pleased when individuals players add efficient three-point shooting to their repertoires.
PointAfter, a sports data visualization site powered by the Graphiq network, examined three-point shooting figures from the 2015-16 campaign (through April 6) and compared them to 2014-15. We ranked the 32 players (minimum 30 three-point attempts) who improved the most statistically from beyond the arc based on their boost in three-point percentage. In the event of a tie by that measure, we ordered the list by whoever had the better three-point percentage in 2015-16. If that was also tied, we ranked by total three-pointers made.
The grouping involved a mix of players who went from good to great, as well as players who became adequate after abysmal three-point showings a season ago (including the No. 1 guy overall). Each player listed will be accompanied by their 2015-16 interactive PointAfter shot chart.
