Fitzgerald Cecilio
Cleveland, OH
The Cleveland Cavaliers dismissed coach Byron Scott, just after the team completed a dismal 24-58 season.
The team's rebuilding campaign has stalled following LeBron James' departure for the Miami Heat in 2010, thanks to injuries and poor play.
"I have tremendous respect for Byron professionally and a great deal of admiration for him personally," Cavaliers general manager Chris Grant said, accordfing to ESPN. "At the same time, it is critical for where we are as a team to ensure that we capitalize on every opportunity for development and success and we have fallen short of that on the court. I believe we needed to make this change in order to get to a better position to achieve our goals."
Scott had an awful record of 64-166 in three seasons with the Cavs.
His overall slate as coach is 416-521 with the Nets, New Orleans Hornets and Cavs and he's still under contract with the latter for $4 million for 2014-15.
