A baseball glove believed to have been used by Jackie Robinson in the 1995 and 1956 World Series has been sold for $373,002 in an auction ran by New York-based Steiner Sports.

The glove, however, did not break a record for the highest figure paid for a glove at auction. A glove advertised as the last one used by Lou Gehrig was sold for $387,500 in Sotheby's auction of the collection of famed collector Barry Halper in 1999.

Since then, the story of that glove has been questioned. Another glove that is believed to have been Gehrig's last resides in the Hall of Fame.

A bat believed to have been used by Robinson in his final season in 1956 went for $114,000.

During the auction, a Mickey Mantle's 1960 contract with the New York Yankees worth $60,000 went for $39,930.

Proceeds from this item will go to Hurricane Sandy relief, split equally between those affected in New York and New Jersey.
