Milwaukee Brewers outfielder and former NL Most Valuable Player Ryan Braun admitted to dealings with a Miami clinic that allegedly supplied performance-enhancing drugs to several Major League players.

However, Braun said that his name was listed in the ledger owned by Biogenesis of America owner Tony Bosch due to the $20,000-$30,000 he allegedly owed in consultancy fees and not connected with purchase of banned substances.

Braun said that his attorneys used Bosch as consultant during the "course of preparing for my successful appeal last year", referring to the overturning of the 50-game suspension due to high levels of testosterone last February

"He (Bosch) answered questions about T/E [testosterone/epitestosterone] ratio and possibilities of tampering with samples," said Braun.

Braun said there was a dispute over compensation for Bosch's work, "which is why my lawyer and I are listed under moneys owed and not on any other list".

"I have nothing to hide and have never had any other relationship with Bosch," Braun added. "I will fully cooperate with any inquiry into this matter."

Braun captured the NL MVP trophy before the suspension was announced. Amid criticism, he did not return the award and instead decided to fight the punishment, which was later overturned by an arbitrator.

Braun made the reaction after Yahoo! Sports reported that his name has turned up in Bosch's ledger which also contained the names of Alex Rodriguez, Gio Gonzalez, Melky Cabrera, Francisco Cervelli, Danny Valencia and Cesar Carrillo.

Last season, Braun led the NL in home runs (41), runs (108) and slugging percentage (.595) and hit .319 with 112 RBI but finished second to San Francisco's Buster Posey in MVP balloting.
